Next Wave LotR

Cole and I started the next wave of our Lord of the Rings quest. We roughed in approx. 4' of deepening wall for our Helms Deep project. We also started the next wave of figures which includes 70 Uruk Hai as well as 80 elves. This project seems to rekindle itself every 6 months and we go great guns with it for awhile. I hope to complete the walls on this go round.

One segment of wall that we are building out of project bricks.

It's a lot of work to build the walls but so far I am pleased with the results. Now to prime them with paint!

Modern 28mm

My son asked for some help basing his 28mm modern figures on his birthday so I said "but of course"!
He painted all of these prior to the holiday season but never got around to basing them. They are a mix of Empress Miniatures, TAG (the chocolate chip style uniforms) and Eureka miniatures.
Anyways, I thought he did a great job for a 17 year old, heck for any age for that matter.

I like the masks on these. The one on the right is a Hasslefree Mini.

A rare cameo moment for the artist! lol.

Then we spruced them up a bit with some tufts, flock and rocks.

Nice work son!

Landing Craft

Finally had time to assemble and prime my 20mm landing craft. Also readied a few tanks and a Japanese truck. The landing craft are all from Frontline Wargaming. They are resin. I love the waterline version of the LVT's. The Japanese truck and two tanks are from them as well. The Stuart tank is from Britannia while the Valentine (for Malaya stuff) is unknown metal (I am guessing either Skytrex or SHQ).
I am excited to get these done along with the Marines.

I will post more as I complete these.

Dux Britianiarum

My friend John Patrick is to thank for this wonderful game. I was always interested in Dark Age history especially Arthurian. This ge is by Too Fat Lardies and I can not recommend it more. I am going to post all my previous pictures of past games with the intent to post any further games played.  I hope the eye candy proves worthy.

The Romano Brits won the first raid game.  Hard fought but the Saxons returned two months later to steal some livestock.

Again the Romano-Brits defended their turf well. Heavy casualties on both sides. The Saxons returned two months later.

The Saxons won a victory while raiding a church, but the price was high. A great noble warrior fell on the field. The mighty Wulfin fell in the front rank of the Saxon formation. His lose will be remembered in song and sagas.

First Wave of Marines...

Well I spray coated the first completed batch of U.S. Marines tonight. Here's a final pic prior to basing them.

I will post a couple of better ones after they are based. I'm really pleased with the results even with a speed paint method.
