20mm Eastern Front Supports

I finished painting some Soviet AT guns and a few German supports. The Zis 2/3 guns are Plastic Soldier Co. The German tanks and vehicles are Britiania while the Maultier (Mule) is an old Milicast I had laying around. 

20mm British Paras, Red Devils

Well... Finally finished my British Paras for Chain of Command or Bolt Action. 

I count 115 total. These are all metal 20mm from various manufacturers. 

Happy with them and now ready for some campaigns with "At the Sharp End"!

Landing Craft

Finally had time to assemble and prime my 20mm landing craft. Also readied a few tanks and a Japanese truck. The landing craft are all from Frontline Wargaming. They are resin. I love the waterline version of the LVT's. The Japanese truck and two tanks are from them as well. The Stuart tank is from Britannia while the Valentine (for Malaya stuff) is unknown metal (I am guessing either Skytrex or SHQ). 

I am excited to get these done along with the Marines.  

I will post more as I complete these. 

Marines Done

Ok as said I am posting a finished photo of my first round of 20mm Marines. Ready for the fight. 

First Wave of Marines...

Well I spray coated the first completed batch of U.S. Marines tonight. Here's a final pic prior to basing them. 

I will post a couple of better ones after they are based. I'm really pleased with the results even with a speed paint method. 

Merry Christmas to All...

Lookie what my beloved got me for Chistmas today!  7 LVT's plus a couple of landing craft, two Japanese tanks and a truck. Thank you Bear! 

Cole got a pile of modern stuff from Mojo, Stan Johanson and Empress Minis. 

Ty also got some cool stuff...

And Cole painted a figure for him. I thought it came out splendid. 

We will be busy for quite awhile with everything!  

Japanese Troops Completed

Here is a few pictures of my first phase of Pacific WW2 figures completed. They are a mixture of metal manufacturers. All are 20mm scale. 

In all there is 96 completed figures all based for either Bolt Action or Chain of Command. I have more support choices to paint up and hope to come back to then next year. Now it's off to ready about 100 U. S. Marines 😃

Rear Guard Action in Malaysia

I ran a really fun rear guard action scenario using out Bolt Action rules. Had a lot of fun with my son Cole and Steve Miller. My youngest even helped me out for about a third of the way through the game! Lol. 

I set up a quick game to play last Saturday evening. I used my available British figures and what support I could scrape up. It worked well since the Brits would have to make do with 3 squads, 1 MMG team, 3 six pounder AT guns, a light vickers tank and an air support FO for a strafing run. 

The IPA had 5 strong infantry squads, 3 light anti-tank guns, 1 medium Howitzer, a sniper team, and 3 MMG teams. All for the offensive!  Banzai!!!

The game started well for the Brits as the Japs suffered some casualties while advancing. Their objective was simple. Brush aside any resistance in front of them and press on down Singapore road. 

After turn three it was apparent that the Japs were stacking up the British right flank and was intending to shatter the defenders on that side. 

The Brits called in their one airstrike and landed it right on the money!  11 hits on a squad only to roll horrible for casualties!  Uh only 2 KIA's. :-(

That hurt the chances for a stiff British defense. Within 3 more turns the Japs did what they intended to do. They shattered and routed the entire British right flank. 

In the end the British were overrun and either captured, killed or escaped to fight another day. Even the little vickers tank was destroyed. 

Very fun time had by all and the game played smooth. 

Next game will be the British holding a rubber tree plantation with plenty of support!  

Call the Marines

Prime coated all the Marines today. I used a rustoleum primer&paint spray that is good for metal and plastic since I have figures of both materials. This spray paint needs really shook up. I had a couple of bursts of tan come out!  Had to shake a bunch more & then it was fine. The color is 'Oregeno'. 

More Pacific

The first wave 45 Japanese 20mm figures is complete. My second wave is almost done now. They number 52. This will give enough for some good size Bolt Action games plus I am starting play Chain of Command as well. Steve Miller has about 100 Japanese figures as well.

Here is over 100 U. S. Marines ready for paint. I entend to get some more marines from FAA soon. Supports also.
